What to wear to BlogPodium

Blogpodium is fast-approaching and some of you (let's be honest, all of you) are probably starting to think about what you are going to wear, right? Dressing for these types of events can be particularly daunting, especially if you haven't attended one before. I'm certainly not an expert stylist but I do know how stressful getting dressed for one of these events can be. Back in January, Jen and I attended Altitude Design Summit, a big design bloggers conference in Utah. All of the who's who of the design blogging world was going to be there and they are pretty freakin' stylish people. I needed to pack outfits for daytime and evening theme parties, and everyone on Twitter was talking about what to wear. They even had a web class leading up to the conference about what to wear to Alt! In the end, I probably stressed for no reason and my choices turned out to be fine. However, I definitely learned a few things about dressing for these types of events in the process. Today I'm going to share a few of of those tidbits and some outfit inspirations.
1. Be comfortable
Part of the day will be spent sitting, so wear something with a bit of give. Part of the day will be spent walking around or standing, so choose your shoes accordingly. I'm not suggesting you rock a pair of Crocs, I'm just saying to choose whatever heels or flats are most comfortable.
2. Bring a good-sized bag
You are going to take home a lot from Blogpodium....a wealth of great information but also, lots of stuff. Bring a bag that can handle it.
3. Accessorize
Fun jewelry, scarves and even hats can be a good way to up the style factor to any outfit without having to go too crazy with your outfit.
4. Be you...
If you wear what you love, it always looks the best. But be warned, that might mean I'm going to show up in sweatpants.
